Belarusian state museums of great patriotic war history

Museums The Vankovichs` house. Culture and art of the first half of the 19th century
The museums first and second halls are dedicated to artist V. Vankovich’s life and works, and display archive documents, photos of the portraits painted by V. Vankovich and original pieces of painting and decorative and applied arts. A portrait gallery occupies three rooms. The portraits well match the museums overall concept giving a better idea of the late 18th – first half of the 19th centuries household arrangement.Working hours: W-Su 10 am-5 pm.
Museum of ancient belarusian culture
The museum features a collection of Paleolithic artifacts, 19th – 20th centuries ethnography and folk art items, icons and sculptures. Pre-booking only.Working hours: M-Th 10 am-5 pm.

National museums of history and culture of Belarus
The museum features a rich collection of material and documentary relics relating to domestic and international history and culture. The museums inventory includes 338000 exhibits grouped into 45 collections – archaeology, ethnography, numismatics, church articles, weapons, fine arts, icon painting, photography, manuscripts and old-printed papers. The museums exposition features the following topics: Ancient Belarus, Genesis and Semantics of Symbols, Weapons, Military Munitions and Time, Belarus Urban Art in the 19th – Early 20th Centuries.Working hours: open daily 11 am-7 pm (except on Wednesdays).

National art museum of Republic of Belarus
A collection of Russian and Belarusian pre-revolutionary, Western European, Oriental and Soviet Belarusian artworks. Paintings, sculptures, graphics. Decorative and applied arts. The museums five halls are currently displaying three collections – a retrospective exposition of the 12th – the first third of the 20th century Belarusian art, the late 16th – early 20th century Western European art and the 18th – early 20th century Russian art.Working hours: open daily 11 am-7 pm (except on Tuesdays).
Z.I. Azgur memorial museum
The museum is based in the studio of an artist, Soviet Belarusian sculptor and outstanding portraitist of the 20th century. The museum core collection – sculpture exhibits (original gyps artworks mainly) – is comprised of separate items, sketches and draft monuments. The painting and graphics collection includes paintings by G.G. Azgur, G.N. and Y.G. Gorelovs and a gift collection including paintings by Azgur’s friends A.V. Volkov, Y.A. Zaitsev and K.K. Tsvirko. The museum’s auxiliary scientific collection includes frameworks, templates, fittings, work instruments and personal belongings of the sculptor.Working hours: open daily 11 am-6 pm (except on Monday and Tuesday).
"Belaya Dacha" Minsk town estate
A neo-classicism monument of the estate and landscape architecture erected in the late 19th century in the south-western part of Minsk. The estate is located on the hill with a landscaped park on its slopes.
Yakub Kolas state literary and memorial museum
The exposition embraces unique exhibits describing the writer’s works and everyday life. One of visitors’ best-loved events are the weekly literary Thursdays, featuring well-known Belarusian culture and art figures.Working hours: open daily 10 am-5:30 pm (except on Tuesday).
Yanka Kupala state literary museum
A museum popularizing the works by the first Belarusian people’s poet, Yanka Kupala. Lectures, exhibitions, general and theme guided tours.Working hours: open daily 9 am-6 pm (except on Sunday).
The Maxim Bogdanovich literary museum
Dedicated to the life and works of Maxim Bogdanovich, a Belarusian literary classic, this museum offers general and themed guided tours and art exhibitions. Literary recitals and musical evenings are held.Working hours: open from Tu-Su 10 am-5 pm.

The belarusian state museum of folk architecture and the home
This museum is located out of town at a very picturesque spot where the River Ptich meets its tributary, the Menka. Diverse guided tours are offered: Bee-Keeping in Belarus, Belarusian Linen, Regional Folk Architecture, Belarusian Folk Weaving and Ancient Legends and Fairy-Tales. Folk holidays are celebrated with folk bands performing, craftsmen showing their skills and souvenir fairs. Festive events can be arranged.Working hours: the office is open from Tu-Su 10 am-4 pm.
Vladislav Golubok's Lounge
Affiliated to The State Museum of Theatre and Music History of the Republic of Belarus, it is dedicated to the life and work of Vladislav Golubok, a playwright and an artist. Themed parties are regularly held.Working hours: open from Tu-Sa 10 am-5:30 pm, ticket office from 10 am-5 pm.
